Searching for Urban Resilience Specialist to join International Development Team in DC

Title: Urban Resilience Specialist
Location: Washington DC (Remote work can be considered for the right candidate. This position will include 20% international travel countries after the pandemic.)

We work with governments, international development banks, including the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners in the international development and humanitarian assistance sector to help communities build resilience to natural disasters.

We are currently seeking an Urban Resilience Specialist who has a passion for making cities more resilient, sustainable and inclusive to become a member of our growing and dynamic International Development team.

Some of the central responsibilities of this position are:
• Support the ID team in expanding portfolio of urban resilience projects with the World Bank and other multilateral banks.
• Coordinate and facilitate project implementation between the International Development and engineering teams.
• Perform research, data collection and data analysis in the urban resilience, urban planning, climate change and housing sectors.
• Write-up detailed, technical reports.
• Provide budgeting support, manage sub-contracts and provide overall project support.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in climate change, urban planning, resilience, or related field. Master’s degree advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Disaster Risk Reduction, or Urban Planning, or Climate Change Adaptation preferably in Emerging Markets.
• Minimum of 3 years working in the International Development sector, preferably with project funded by multilateral development banks.
• Strong technical, research and writing skills.
• Experience working with World Bank projects is highly desirable.
• Creative, resourceful self-starter and multi-tasker with excellent organization and planning skills, as well as the ability to be flexible, problem solve independently and work well with remote, global teams.
• Must have Legal Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
